The Lippmann Edge

Oversized Shaft, Dynamically Balanced Flywheels

All Lippmann heavy-duty jaw crushers feature an oversized, heat treated shaft forged of special alloy to provide an exceptionally large eccentric throw. These heavy-duty shafts are paired with two dynamically balanced flywheels, effectively reducing vibration on both portable and stationary crushers. The overhead eccentric configuration does not rely on gravity alone to move material through the chamber. Rather, the inward and downward movement of the swing jaw provides for a forced-feeding motion to maximize output. All shafts are machined and put through a rigorous inspection process before they enter production.

Tapered Roller Bearing for Optimized Bearing Life

In order to optimize bearing life, only tapered roller bearings are used in Lippmann jaw crushers. The tapered bearings offer a combination of features that spherical bearings are unable to provide. When considering the adjustable clearance, line contact, true rolling motion and ability to carry both radial and thrust loads, the tapered roller bearing is an obvious choice for all jaw crushers. Lippmann proudly stocks a large inventory of all bearing sizes.

Hydraulic Toggle Reduces Setting Time

The automatic hydraulic toggle has greatly reduced the time it takes to change a jaw crusher’s setting. As jaw dies wear, the hydraulic toggle can be easily adjusted to maintain a constant closed side setting (CSS) while in continuous operation. An added benefit of the Lippmann hydraulic toggle package is the ability to provide tramp release once an un-crushable has entered the crushing chamber. In the case of a tramp event, manual or automatic reset of the CSS can be achieved by reducing the feed and closing the jaw on the fly. Nitrogen and Air Bag tensioning systems are available on all mid-sized to large model jaw crushers.

Reversible Jaw Dies for Longer Life

All standard Lippmann jaw dies (stationary and moving) are reversible. They can be flipped from end to end as necessary to get better lifespan out of them. The corrugated design that is centered about the jaw crusher allows this. Lippmann uses a peak to valley arrangement to break the rocks, using shear rather than direct compression.

Oil-Bath Lubrication System

The Lippmann automatic lubrication system (Autolube) can deliver a continuous oil bath to any of the Lippmann jaws. This gravity return system feeds portions of oil to the swing jaw barrel and the frame bearings. There are sight glasses for each return line giving a direct visual of the quality and quantity of oil being delivered. An internal filter removes any contaminants while running. All Autolubes come with an immersion heater for cold environments. Also, there is a low-pressure interlock that can be used in conjunction with an alarm, turn off equipment, etc. Other visual checks that come with the Autolube are operating pressure, external oil level sight glass, and a thermometer for reading the oil temperature.

Taper Lock

The Lippmann Taper-lock package makes lengthy, close-side setting adjustment a thing of the past. This tool-free system allows the operator to add shims to Lippmann manual toggle jaw crushers in a matter of minutes. Increased coverage of the toggle block in extreme applications is an added benefit incorporated in the retrofit design. The taper-lock system is available as a retro-fit to existing crushers and can be installed on new production crushers.
